Centrefire Rifle
How much would one expect to pay for a new, centrefire rifle?
A mate is looking to buy a new or used (but in good condition) centrefire rifle. I told him that it all depends on what you get but how much would a decent calibre rifle cost? I’m thinking like 30-06 or 7mm type of power.
a Remington 770 in 7mm magnum is going at $399 at my local big 5 sporting goods store.
a good condition CMP Springfield 30-06 (buying used off a private owner) can be had for $350-$500.
a entry-level Mauser rifles starts at $225. 8mm Mauser is on par with 30-06 levels of power. $225 for a Yugo made one.
